Gulf Island National Seashore near Navarre, Florida

DeFuniak Springs, Florida

Servings: 4-6

As a southern girl, I grew up with my grandmother and mom making chicken and dumplings- it was one of my favorite meals. As an adult, I made this dish for my family as well. Ironically, we all made it slightly different. This is the recipe I’ve used for quite some time now. It is the quintessential comfort food for me: definitely NOT low calorie. I hope you enjoy it as well.

Ingredients:

Boiled/Poached chicken breasts*
